About Anahvia Art Studio

Creativity, Reimagined for Adults

Anahvia is an elevated creative and social destination in Houston built around what happens when we give our attention somewhere worth giving it. We challenge the idea that creativity belongs to childhood, requiring artistic talent, or has to look a certain way. Here, creativity becomes part of a night out, a celebration, a afternoon to yourself, or simply a reason to do something different.

At Anahvia, the experience changes. What remains constant is the opportunity to put down the distractions, engage your hands and imagination, and become absorbed in what's happening right in front of you.

OUR STORY

The Flowers Were Only the Beginning

Anahvia began as Blossom Bar Houston, a space centered around floral design.

People came to learn how to arrange flowers, but over time, we started paying attention to everything else happening around the table. Engagement. Connection. Energy. The small things that became big things.

What started with flowers grew into something more. A name built around intention.

An evolved space designed for host experiences that inspire, restore, and bring people together.

That evolution became Anahvia.

THE MEANING OF ANAHVIA

anahvia

uh-NAV-ee-uh

noun

  1. 1.

A state of undivided presence in which a person is fully engaged with what they are doing, who they are with, or what they are creating—free from distractions.

  2. 2.

A place or experience that invites people to pause, create, and reconnect with themselves, others, and the act of creating.

Anahvia is an invented word because what we were becoming needed language of its own. We simply built a place designed to make more room for it.

Meet The Founder

Karla Trice

Long before Anahvia had a name, Karla Trice was already living much of the philosophy behind it. A Bronx, New York native and licensed funeral director, Karla built a career that routinely placed her alongside people experiencing some of life's heaviest moments. Creativity became one of the ways she cared for herself. She painted. She worked with flowers. She explored new ways of making things simply because she genuinely enjoyed it.
Years later, that same philosophy would show up inside Blossom Bar Houston without her deliberately setting out to build a business around it. As the concept began growing, her oldest brother gave her a piece of advice that stayed with her: "Small things become big things."
His point was simple. She was enjoying what she was building, and other people were enjoying it too. It did not have to begin as her biggest dream to become something meaningful. That is exactly what happened.
Today, Karla leads Anahvia with intention, creativity, and a deep commitment to creating spaces where people feel seen, connected, and inspired.

OUR MISSION

Using Creativity as a Therapeutic Vessel

Anahvia operates through Blossom Bar Houston, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

The nonprofit mission grew from something we had already experienced firsthand: creating can give our attention a place to land.

It can challenge us without requiring perfection. It can create room for interaction without an ask. It can give someone the satisfaction of looking at something that did not exist before they made it.

When we say using creativity as a therapeutic vessel, we mean creativity is not the cure and not the clinical practice—it is the vehicle. Our nonprofit work allows that philosophy to extend beyond the people who already know how to find it.
